Yep. As far as I can remember - and I've been reading him here and the
gnupg-users list for more than 10 years - he has always tried to be

This is true. However, we should never stop to try harder in terms of
making things clearer and more easily visible.
Kristy, please have a look at 1.8 once it is published. A lot of
things have been improved in the UI.
